Why is Tumblr flagging pornographic content?

The company posted on its help site saying the illegal images were immediately taken down when discovered.
It is mainly for child abuse. They mentioned “Every image uploaded to Tumblr is scanned against an industry database of known child sexual abuse material, and images that are detected never reach the platform.”
In a post, CEO Jeff D’Onorio stressed Tumblr had always had a “zero tolerance policy” to such content, but wanted to improve safety on the site.
